Many people go to Craigslist, and while you will find companies there, it is hard to know who you are actually dealing with and what their reputation in the industry is. With a little diligence and research you can find a reputable company.
One of the first things you should look for is does the company have a real address that you can go to and talk to a representative. Along the same lines, do the technicians wear company uniforms and drive company marked vehicles. These can all be indications that the company is legitimate, but still more investigation does not do any harm. Look at the company’s
website to learn more about the company. Companies that do not charge a service fee just for coming out and providing an evaluation show confidence in their pricing.
You can ask friends and family if they have used a garage door service company and if they would recommend them to you. If they would not recommend the company, then chances are they did not have a good experience and you should look for another company.

YELP provides quality feedback from real customers and I use them anytime I am looking for any type of service. Look for companies with a 5 star or close to a 5 star rating. It is also important to look at the number of reviews the company has. Companies with many reviews typically indicate that the company has been in business for a good amount of time and have established a reputation in the field. Every company that has been doing business has customers who, for some reason, have not been happy with the service they received. The question is how does the company handle those customers? A company that cares about their customers does everything they can to make sure their customers are satisfied with the service they receive.
Sites like Next Door and community sites can also be a good source when looking for a garage door service company. We receive lots of referrals from these type sites as well. Many times you will find that your neighbor has used a particular company and you can talk to them about the service they received
