Programming Travel and Force Limits Overhead Legacy and Phantom

Garage Door Openers

Before programming the travel limits and force limits make sure the door is attached to the trolley and

the trolley is attached to the inner-slider.

Programming “Open” Limit

1. On the back of the opener motor locate the limit set button.

2. Press and hold the limit set button until the garage door is in the desired fully open position.

3. Release the limit set button.

4. The open limit is now programmed.

Programming “Close” Limit

1. Press and hold the limit set button until the garage door is in the desired fully closed position.

2. Release the limit set button.

3. The close limit is now programmed.

Programming Open Force

1. Locate the “Open Force” adjustment screw on the back of the opener motor.

2. Carefully turn the open force adjustment screw counterclockwise until it stops.

3. Using the wall button, open the garage door. If the door roes not open completely, turn the

open force adjustment screw slightly clockwise.

4. Press the wall button to open the garage door.

5. Repeat process until the garage door opens fully to the open limit. ( Set force to minimum

required for door to fully open)

6. Use the wall button to close the garage door.

Programming Close force

1. Use the wall button to open the garage door.

2. Locate the “Close Force” adjustment screw on the back of the opener motor.

3. Carefully turn the close force adjustment screw counterclockwise until it stops.

4. Using the wall button, close the garage door. If the garage door does not close completely, turn

the close force adjustment screw slightly clockwise.

5. Press the wall button to close the garage door.

6. Repeat the process until the garage door closes to the fully closed limit. (Set force to minimum

required for door to fully close)

Fine Travel Limit Adjustment

Adjusting the Open Limit

1. Using the wall button, open the garage door.

2. Locate the curved open limit adjustment slot on the back of the opener motor.

3. Insert a screw driver into the adjustment screw and turn the screw clockwise for more open

travel and counterclockwise for less open travel. This is for minor adjustment to the open travel

limit. Make small adjustments to travel limits at a time.

4. Use the wall button to close and open the garage door.

5. Repeat steps as necessary to adjust the open travel limit.

Adjusting the Close Limit

1. Using the wall button, close the garage door.

2. Locate the curved close limit slot on the back of the opener motor.

3. Insert a screw driver into the adjustment screw and turn the screw counterclockwise for more

close travel and clockwise for less close travel. Make small adjustments to travel limits at a time.

4. Use the wall button to open and close the garage door.

5. Repeat steps as necessary to adjust the close travel limit.
