INITIAL PIN CONFIGURATION PROCEDURE
The 878MAX wireless keyless entry system comes pre-configured for seamless integration with LiftMaster garage door openers equipped with a distinctive yellow LEARN button. Identify this button on your garage door opener to begin entering a new sequence. For LEARN buttons that emit a yellow hue, follow Method A; otherwise, refer to Method B for differently colored LEARN buttons.
Option 1 – If a Yellow LEARN Button is Present (Liftmaster / Chamberlain from 2011 to Current / security+ 2.0)
- Initiate by pressing and promptly releasing the Yellow LEARN button on your garage door opener. Observe the illumination of the Learn LED.
- Input a 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) of your preference.
- Engage the ENTER button until the garage door openers light bulb flickers or produces two audible clicks.
- Validate the setup by entering the recently programmed PIN and subsequently pressing the ENTER button, prompting the activation of the garage door opener.

Option 2 – Yellow Learn/Security + 2.0 and Other Learn Buttons are Present
- Press and sustain the ‘∗‘ and ‘#’ buttons until the keypad’s blinking lights cease.
- Input a 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) at your discretion, then press the ‘#’ button. This PIN will be crucial in step 6.
- Press and release the ENTER button the corresponding number of times based on the garage door opener type:
- 1 press for Yellow Learn Button (Security + 2.0)
- 2 presses for Purple Learn Button (315 MHz Security+)
- 3 presses for Red/Orange Learn Button (390 MHz Security+)
- 4 presses for Green LEARN Button (390 MHz Billion Code)
- Single press and release the 0 button.
- Single-press the LEARN button on the garage door opener. Notice the illumination of the Learn LED.
- Re-enter the 4-digit PIN from step 2, then press and release the ENTER button until the garage door opener’s lights flash or produce two clicks.
- Validate the setup by entering the programmed PIN and pressing the ENTER button. The garage door opener will activate. Repeat steps 1-7 for additional openers, using a unique PIN for each.
